Experience
Marcus developed a strong foundation in criminal law through his academic and professional experiences. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Wilfrid Laurier University and further refined his advocacy skills through the Intensive Program in Criminal Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, which included a moot before judges of the Ontario Court of Justice.
During his articling term in Toronto, Marcus worked on a wide range of criminal matters, including sexual assault charges, drug offences, DUI offences, and cases involving complex mental health issues. He gained hands-on courtroom and client management experience, assisting on files from early-stage disclosure review through to trial and resolution.
In addition to his legal training, Marcus brings a unique perspective from his experience in the insurance and financial sectors, where he briefly founded and operated an independent life insurance brokerage and traded in Foreign Exchange markets.
